René Foltán

He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the Charles University in Hradec Králové in 1993 and the Faculty of General Medicine at the same faculty in 1998, hence the title MUDr. et MUDr. Since 1994, he has been working full-time at the Dental Clinic of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the General Hospital in Prague, where he is the head. He has been engaged in private practice in the field of oral, maxillofacial and facial surgery since 1996. He has been actively involved in implantology since 1997 and in the introduction of Swedish Branemark implants since 1998 – as one of the first in the Czech Republic. He worked at the University Clinics in Zurich, Switzerland, and at the Dep. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Guildford, England. He is also diligently engaged in research, as evidenced by the successfully defended grants at the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and the volume and quality of his publication activity with many articles in major foreign journals. And also his extensive lecturing activity not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. He actively participates in undergraduate teaching of both dentistry and general medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague. He is also involved in postgraduate teaching in the field of oral, maxillofacial and facial surgery within Charles University and the Institute for Further Education of Physicians and Pharmacists. Despite this, he is still actively educating himself, which is also evidenced by the large number of congresses he attends every year and at which he actively speaks.
